SunSirs: Market Price Situation of Livestock Products and Feed in the 2nd Week of December

According to monitoring of 500 county-level wholesale markets and collection points nationwide, during the second week of December (with December 11 as the collection date), prices of egg feed, mutton sheep feed, and broiler feed rose month-on-month, while prices of live pig products, chicken meat, live cattle, and soybean meal fell month-on-month. Prices of commercial-day-old chicks, beef, fresh milk, corn, growing-finishing pig feed, and layer feed remained unchanged month-on-month.

Pig Product Prices: The national average price of piglets was 23.43 CNY/kg, down 1.2% from the previous week and down 29.7% year-on-year. Piglet prices rose in Hainan, Gansu, and Inner Mongolia, while falling in 25 provinces including Ningxia, Fujian, Tianjin, Jiangsu, and Liaoning; Shanghai’s price remained unchanged. Prices were highest in the South China region at 28.03 CNY/kg and lowest in the North China region at 21.85 CNY/kg. The national average price of live pigs was 12.13 CNY/kg, down 0.7% from the previous week and down 27.1% year-on-year. Live pig prices rose in four provinces—Hunan, Chongqing, Hubei, and Guangdong—while falling in 26 provinces including Ningxia, Fujian, Liaoning, Shaanxi, and Shanghai. Prices were highest in the South China region at 13.02 CNY/kg and lowest in the Northeast region at 11.62 CNY/kg./P>The national average price of pork is 22.59 CNY/kg, down 0.7% from the previous week and down 19.3% year-on-year. Pork prices rose in five provinces—Chongqing, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Hunan, and Hainan—but fell in 25 provinces including Ningxia, Fujian, Henan, Jiangsu, and Shanghai. Prices were highest in the South China region at 26.35 CNY/kg, and lowest in the Northeast region at 19.35 CNY/kg.

Poultry Product Prices: The national average price of eggs is 8.60 CNY/kg, down 0.1% from the previous week and down 22.7% year-on-year. In the 10 major egg-producing provinces—including Hebei and Liaoning—the average egg price is 7.19 CNY/kg, up 0.1% from the previous week but down 28.7% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken meat is 22.25 CNY/kg, down 0.2% from the previous week and down 5.2% year-on-year. The average price of commercial layer chicks is 3.49 CNY/chick, unchanged from the previous week but down 13.2% year-on-year. The average price of commercial broiler chicks is 3.41 CNY/chick, unchanged from the previous week but down 6.8% year-on-year./P>

Cattle and Sheep Product Prices: The national average price of beef stood at 71.33 CNY/kg, unchanged from the previous week but up 7.3% year-on-year. In the 10 major producing provinces—including Hebei and Inner Mongolia—the beef price was 65.14 CNY/kg, down 0.1% from the previous week. The live cattle price in these major producing provinces was 26.51 CNY/kg, down 0.1% from the previous week but up 15.0% year-on-year. The national average price of mutton was 71.59 CNY/kg, up 0.1% from the previous week and up 2.4% year-on-year. In the 10 major producing provinces—including Hebei and Inner Mongolia—the mutton price was 69.23 CNY/kg, up 0.1% from the previous week. The live sheep price in these major producing provinces was 30.09 CNY/kg, up 0.3% from the previous week and up 3.7% year-on-year.

Fresh milk prices. In 10 major producing provinces, including Inner Mongolia and Hebei, the average price of fresh milk was 3.02 CNY per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week but down 2.9% year on year.

Feed Prices: The national average price of corn stood at 2.43 CNY/kg, unchanged from the previous week but up 4.7% year-on-year. In the three northeastern provinces—the main production area—corn prices were 2.23 CNY/kg, down 0.4% from the previous week. In Guangdong Province—the main sales region—corn prices reached 2.50 CNY/kg, up 0.8% from the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal was 3.29 CNY/kg, down 0.3% from the previous week but up 0.3% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for fattening pigs was 3.36 CNY/kg, unchanged from the previous week but down 0.3% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broiler chickens was 3.50 CNY/kg, up 0.3% from the previous week but flat year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for layer hens was 3.22 CNY/kg, unchanged from the previous week but up 0.9% year-on-year.
