SunSirs: China's Lithium-ion Battery Exports Reach $69.165 Billion in January-November

According to the latest customs statistics, China exported 4.252 billion lithium-ion batteries from January to November 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 19.32%. From January to November 2025, China's lithium-ion battery exports reached $69.165 billion, marking a 25.57% year-on-year increase and maintaining steady growth momentum. Specifically, November 2025 saw exports valued at $6.81 billion, up 17.5% year-on-year but down 2.38% month-on-month. During November, export volume totaled 447 million units, representing a 22.63% year-on-year increase.

Germany has surpassed the United States as China's largest lithium-ion battery export market since May. From January to November 2025, exports to Germany reached $12.209 billion, a year-on-year increase of 28.48%, accounting for 17.7% of China's total lithium-ion battery exports. The United States ranked as the second-largest market, with exports totaling $10.969 billion during the same period, down 18.16% year-on-year, accounting for 15.9% of China's lithium-ion battery exports. Vietnam emerged as the third-largest export destination, with exports valued at $3.584 billion, up 17.16% year-on-year, representing 5.2% of China's lithium-ion battery exports. Among the top ten export destinations, Chile, Saudi Arabia, and Australia recorded the highest year-on-year growth rates.

From January to November 2025, Guangdong Province emerged as China's largest source of lithium-ion battery exports, with an export value of $18.079 billion—a 36.24% year-on-year increase—accounting for 26.1% of China's total lithium-ion battery exports. Export volume reached 1.4 billion units, up 13.18% year-on-year. Fujian Province ranked second with exports valued at $16.546 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.19%, accounting for 23.9% of China's lithium-ion battery exports. The export volume reached 310 million units, up 33.91% year-on-year. Jiangsu Province ranked third with exports valued at $8.849 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.04%, accounting for 12.8% of China's total lithium-ion battery exports. The export volume reached 845 million units, up 17.38% year-on-year. The combined export value of lithium-ion batteries from Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangsu provinces accounted for 62.9% of China's total lithium-ion battery exports.

Among the top ten export destinations from January to November 2025, the three provinces with the largest export value increases were Hubei Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Hunan Province, with export values rising by 142.16%, 68.67%, and 59.92% respectively. The three provinces/municipalities with the highest export volume growth were Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Shanghai Municipality, and Fujian Province, with export volumes increasing by 78.83%, 37.53%, and 33.91%, respectively.
