On December 17th, the SunSirs’benchmark price for DBP was 6,751.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.27% compared to the beginning of the month (6,601.67 RMB/ton).
On December 17th, the DBP market in Jiangsu province remained stable, with a quoted price of 6,700 RMB/ton. The DBP market in Shandong province also remained stable, with a quoted price of 6,600 RMB/ton, and the DBP market in Zhejiang province remained stable, with a quoted price of 6,800 RMB/ton.
Market Analysis
On December 17th, the price of n-butanol, a raw material for the plasticizer DBP, fell from its high point, while phthalic anhydride prices remained weak and isooctanol prices declined. The cost of DBP raw materials remained weak, and PVC prices fluctuated within a narrow range. Downstream demand was weak, and DBP production facilities operated at low capacity. DBP supply was ample, and factory inventories were low. Downstream customers showed moderate purchasing interest, with transaction prices determined through negotiation. DBP prices ranged from 6,500 to 6,800 RMB/ton, showing weak consolidation. Downward pressure on DBP prices increased while upward momentum weakened, leading to a stabilization of the DBP market.
