SunSirs: EU Soybean Meal Imports Decrease by 10% Year-on-year

November 27 2025 14:38:31     SunSirs (Selena)

The latest report from the European Commission shows that as of November 21, the EU's import volume of soybean meal for 2025/26 was 7.02 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10%.

The import volume of soybean meal in the European Union decreased by 10% year-on-year to 7.02 million tons, indicating significant weak demand, which may exert downward pressure on soybean meal prices. In terms of spot goods, a decrease in demand may lead to oversupply, causing pressure on spot prices to fall, especially with an increase in supply expectations in the European market. In terms of futures, the recent settlement price of soybean meal contracts, such as 2601, is 3,021 RMB/ton, with a 12% increase. However, news of declining demand may exacerbate market concerns, suppress future gains, or trigger selling; The position of contract 2605 increased by 38,705, indicating a widening gap between long and short positions, but overall demand weakened, strengthening bearish expectations.
