According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs: the price of activated charcoal was 12,700 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 12,766 RMB/ton at the end of the week, an increase of 0.52%.
Market Analysis
Domestic coconut shell activated charcoal manufacturers raised prices this week. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification in East China is between 9,500 and 13,000 RMB/ton. Demand for coconut shell activated charcoal is strong in water treatment, air purification, sodium-ion batteries and other fields. In addition, the extended sea freight cycle and increased warehousing and environmental protection requirements have pushed up import costs, which is a positive factor supporting the price increase.
In September, the price of coconut shell charcoal in Indonesia was $1,019/ton, and in India it was $958/ton, both representing increases of over 80% compared to the same period in 2024. Southeast Asian coconut-producing countries have experienced shortages of coconut shell charcoal due to natural disasters and policy adjustments, leading to price increases.

The domestic market demand for coconut shell activated charcoal is strong, and the price of activated charcoal is expected to fluctuate at a high level in the short term.
