SunSirs: Canadian Rapeseed Exports Decrease by 54% Year-on-year

According to data released by Statistics Canada, the pace of wheat and rapeseed exports in Canada slowed down in the 14th week of 2025/26. As of the week of November 9th, Canada's rapeseed exports amounted to 121,000 tons, compared to 188,000 tons last week. The export volume for the year 2025/26 so far is 1.544 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 54.1%, and a decrease of 54.1% last week.

The slowdown in rapeseed exports implies a decrease in raw material costs, which has a negative impact on the spot price of rapeseed oil. Combined with the closing price of rapeseed oil OI contract 2603 on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange at 9,635 RMB/ton, a decrease of 76 RMB/ton, futures data shows a downward trend, and export data may exacerbate downward pressure on prices, reflecting the risk of oversupply.
