SunSirs: EU Soybean Imports for the 2025/26 Marketing Year Decreased by 15% Year-on-year as of October 26

Data from the European Commission shows that overall EU oilseed and vegetable oil imports for the 2025/26 marketing year are lower than last year, reflecting increased domestic oilseed production and crushing expectations. As of October 26, soybean imports in the EU-27 for the 2024/25 marketing year (beginning July 1) were approximately 3.62 million tons, a 15% decrease compared to the same period in 2024/25, and a 9% decrease a week earlier.
Rapeseed imports were approximately 1.2 million tons, a 37% decrease year-on-year, and a 3% decrease a week earlier.
Sunflower seed imports were approximately 120,000 tons, a 37% decrease year-on-year, and a 36% decrease a week earlier.
Soybean meal imports were approximately 5.68 million tons, a 4% decrease year-on-year, and a 1% decrease a week earlier.
As for vegetable oils, soybean oil imports were 220,000 tons, a 160% increase year-on-year, and a 166% increase a week earlier.
Sunflower oil imports totaled 500,000 tons, a 25% decrease year-on-year, the same decrease as a week ago.
Palm oil imports totaled 890,000 tons, a 21% decrease year-on-year, the same decrease as a week ago.
