SunSirs: EU Rapeseed Imports Down 37% Year-on-year so Far in 2025/26

EU data shows that EU rapeseed imports have decreased by 37% year-on-year so far in the 2025/26 season, with significant declines in import shares from Australia and Ukraine. As of October 26, 2025, Ukraine became the EU's top rapeseed supplier, with 728,000 tons, a 45.8% decrease year-on-year, and its share falling from 71.0% to 60.8%.
Moldova is the second largest supplier, with 222,000 tons, a 242.3% increase year-on-year, and its share rising from 3.4% to 18.5%.
Australia is the third largest supplier, with 140,000 tons, a 66.0% decrease year-on-year; its share falling from 21.8% to 11.7%.
EU rapeseed imports so far in the 2025/26 season totaled 1.2 million tons, a 37% decrease year-on-year, following a 33% decrease a week earlier.
In the 2024/25 marketing year, the EU imported 7.447 million tons of rapeseed, a 31% increase year-on-year. Of this, 3.51 million tons were imported from Australia, an 87.7% increase year-on-year, with its share rising from 33.0% to 47.1%; 2.41 million tons were imported from Ukraine, a 23.7% decrease year-on-year, with its share remaining unchanged at 32.4% instead of 55.6%; and 1.13 million tons were imported from Canada, a 999% increase year-on-year, with its share also significantly rising from 1.8% to 15.2%.
