SunSirs: Yichuan 100,000-Ton BDO Project Completes Filing with Total Investment of 1.9 Billion RMB

According to China Chemical Information Weekly, the 100,000-ton annual 1,4-butanediol project by Yichuan County Industrial Park Investment Development and Construction Co., Ltd. has completed filing.
The BDO unit's production capacity is tentatively set at 100,000 tons/year, supported by a 40,000 tons/year natural gas-to-acetylene facility, a 100,000 tons/year methanol plant (using acetylene tail gas recovery), and a 200,000 tons/year formaldehyde (37%) plant. All units will operate for 8,000 hours annually. The BDO output will primarily supply downstream PBS polyester, PTMEG, and other facilities.
Surplus acetylene feedstock will supply the acetylene-to-alcohol unit, while excess methanol will be sold externally. The project involves constructing a 100,000-ton-per-year BDO facility (including acetylene, methanol, and formaldehyde units), with a total investment of RMB 1.9 billion.
