The center of the n-butanol market continued to decline in October

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, the n-butanol market in Shandong Province has been experiencing a sustained downward trend since October. During the National Day holiday, the market consolidated, with relatively calm fundamentals and minimal market fluctuations. Following the holiday, the Shandong n-butanol market cooled and fell, with market negotiations shifting towards lower levels. As of October 28th, the reference price of n-butanol in Shandong Province was around 5,200-5,300 RMB/ton, a decrease of 450-650 RMB/ton compared to the beginning of the month, representing a monthly decline of over 10%.

Market Factor Analysis

Supply and demand: First, during the holiday, basic logistics were suspended and the overall shipment of n-butanol was not smooth. After the holiday, the overall supply in the market was sufficient. The downstream mainly digested the previous raw materials, and the demand followed up slowly. In order to ease the supply pressure, the factory actively made concessions on shipments. The downstream mostly stocked up on low prices. The overall demand boost was not obvious, and market negotiations always operated at the low end.

Market outlook

As of October 28, the trading atmosphere of n-butanol in the market was poor, with a strong wait-and-see sentiment and a general mentality among industry players. The n-butanol data analyst of SunSirs predicts that in the short term, the n-butanol market in Shandong Province will mainly adjust to a lower level, and more attention should be paid to the changes in supply and demand news.
