Ministry of Natural Resources News: On October 21, the China Association of Mineral Appraisers (CAMAA) convened a symposium in Beijing to discuss joining the Committee for Mineral Resource, Ore Reserve and Mineral Resource Reporting Standards (CRIRSCO). A special resolution designating CMAPA as China's sole representative to CRIRSCO was unanimously approved by all member organizations. Effective October 16, CMAPA became CRIRSCO's 16th member.
This membership marks a significant milestone in China's proactive participation in setting international mining technical standards and advancing the globalization of Chinese mining technical standards. The comprehensive implementation of the China Association of Mineral Resources Assessment (CAMRA) Code in China's geological and mining sector will enable full alignment with international mining technical standards. This paves the way for cross-border mergers and acquisitions by Chinese mining enterprises and facilitates the entry of Chinese mining companies into international capital markets. It holds significant strategic importance for promoting China's mining economic development and safeguarding national energy and resource security.
CRIRSCO is an organization composed of representatives from mineral reserve reporting bodies across countries and regions worldwide. Each member institution is responsible for developing mineral resource reserve reporting standards and guidelines for its respective jurisdiction. The organization currently has 16 members, encompassing major mining nations such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the United States, Russia, and South Africa.
Currently, CRIRSCO is globally recognized as the international organization representing standardization in mining disclosure reporting. It serves as a strategic partner of the International Council on Mining and Metals and is endorsed by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the International Accounting Standards Board.
