SunSirs: Ex-Factory Prices for Chemical Raw Materials and Products Fall 5.2% Year-on-Year in September

In September, ex-factory prices for chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing decreased by 5.2% year-on-year.

According to the Chemical Industry News, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on October 15 showed that in September 2025, the national factory-gate price index for industrial producers decreased by 2.3% year-on-year. The decline narrowed by 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous month, while remaining unchanged month-on-month for two consecutive months.

The decline in international oil prices drove month-on-month price decreases in domestic petroleum-related industries. Specifically: - Factory prices in the petroleum and natural gas extraction sector fell 8.6% year-on-year and 2% month-on-month. - Factory prices in the petroleum, coal, and other fuel processing sector dropped 7.8% year-on-year and 0.8% month-on-month. - Factory prices in the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing sector decreased 5.2% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month. Prices in the chemical fiber manufacturing sector fell 7.9% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month.

In September, the producer purchase price index fell 3.1% year-on-year, narrowing by 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, while rising 0.1% month-on-month. Among these, chemical raw materials prices fell 5.5% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month.

From January to September, the average PPI for industrial producers decreased by 2.8% year-on-year, while the average PPI for industrial purchasers decreased by 3.2%.
