SunSirs: Indonesia's Tin Exports Decline Year-on-Year in September
October 15 2025 14:46:42
According to data released by Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, the country's refined tin exports decreased by 3.94% year-on-year in September, totaling 4,844.21 metric tons. However, compared to August's exports of 3,246.46 metric tons, September's volume increased by nearly 50% month-on-month.
As a major global tin producer, Indonesia's significant 50% month-on-month surge in refined tin exports indicates a notable short-term supply increase. This could lead to market oversupply, exerting downward pressure on spot tin prices. Although the 3.94% year-on-year decline suggests a slight long-term supply tightening that provides minor support, the month-on-month change exerts a more direct and pronounced impact on the current market.
As an integrated internet platform providing benchmark prices, on October 15, the benchmark price of tin on SunSirs was 282,360.00 RMB/ton, up 1.55% from the beginning of this month (278,040.00 RMB/ton).
