According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the average domestic ammonium sulfate market price was 950 RMB/ton on September 29, and the average domestic ammonium sulfate market price was 1,053 RMB/ton on September 1. The ammonium sulfate market price fell by 9.81% this month.
Analysis review
The ammonium sulfate market had been weak and declining this month. While ammonium sulfate supply was ample, demand remained weak, resulting in limited new orders. Downstream suppliers were pushing prices down, pushing transaction prices downward. Exports had shown no improvement, and the market remained bearish. As of September 29th, the mainstream ex-factory price for coking-grade ammonium sulfate in Shandong Province was around 880 RMB/ton. For caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate, the mainstream ex-factory price in Shandong Province was around 900-960 RMB/ton.
According to SunSirs’ data, from June 30, 2025 to September 22, 2025, domestic ammonium sulfate prices experienced both ups and downs within the cycle. In September, domestic ammonium sulfate prices fell significantly, with the largest drop of 5.88% in the week of September 8.
Market outlook
An ammonium sulfate analyst of SunSirs believes that domestic ammonium sulfate prices rebounded slightly, halting their decline. Pre-holiday demand for downstream restocking had increased, boosting market trading, but downstream purchasing remained cautious. The domestic ammonium sulfate market is expected to mainly consolidate in the short term.
