SunSirs: China's Rebar and Wire Rod Output Rises in August

According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China's rebar output reached 15.412 million tons in August 2025, marking a 23.6% year-on-year increase. Cumulative production from January to August totaled 128.678 million tons, up 0.3% year-on-year.
In August, China's wire rod production reached 11.452 million tons, up 9.7% year-on-year. Cumulative production from January to August totaled 90.392 million tons, marking a 2.0% increase compared to the same period last year.
As an integrated internet platform providing benchmark prices, on September 18, the benchmark price for rebar on SunSirs was 3,148.00 RMB/ton, down 2.42% from 3,226.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
On September 18, the benchmark price for wire rod on SunSirs was 3,350.00 RMB/ton, down 0.81% from 3,377.50 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
