September 15 2025 14:07:03     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, bromine prices were weak last week. The average market price at the beginning of the week was 29,400 RMB/ton, and by the end of the week it was 29,360 RMB/ton, a 0.14% decrease. However, it was up 45.35% year-on-year.

On September 11th, the SunSirs Bromine Index was 103.16 points, unchanged from the previous day. This was a 57.92% decrease from the intra-cyclical high of 245.18 points (October 27, 2021), and a 75.08% increase from the intra-cyclical low of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The period refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present.)

Analysis review

Bromine prices were weaker last week, with spot prices in Shandong Province ranging from 28,000 to 30,000 RMB/ton ex-factory. Due to weather and regulatory factors, bromine manufacturers were experiencing tight inventory, and downstream companies were generally less enthusiastic about purchasing.

Regarding raw materials, domestic sulfur prices declined, averaging 2,654.33 RMB/ton at the start of the week and 2,644.33 RMB/ton at the end of the week, a 0.38% decrease and a 90.1% year-on-year increase. Downstream demand was general.

Future outlook:

Bromine prices have been weak recently, driven by upstream sulfur prices. Bromine prices remained stagnant last week, with downstream buyers primarily purchasing on demand. Overall market activity remained generally subdued. Bromine prices are expected to remain weaker in the future, depending on downstream market demand.
