SunSirs: The Added Value of The Non-Ferrous Metal Industry Increased by 7.6%

Reporters learned from the China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association that in the first half of this year, the added value of the non-ferrous metal industry with annual revenue of over 20 million yuan increased by 7.6 percent year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points higher than the national growth rate of the industry with annual revenue of over 20 million yuan; the output of the ten commonly used non-ferrous metals was 40.319 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.9 percent, showing strong resilience on the basis of a good start in the first quarter. Driven by policies such as "two new" and "two heavy", in the first half of the year, non-ferrous metal industrial enterprises with annual revenue of over 20 million yuan achieved operating income of 479.325 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.9 percent; and achieved a total profit of 217.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.0 percent.

In recent years, in order to promote the high-quality development of the non-ferrous metal industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, has issued implementation plans for the high-quality development of the copper, aluminum, and gold industries, continuously promoting the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the industry. High-end materials have made continuous breakthroughs, with the breakthrough of ultra-thin titanium materials and the realization of industrialized applications, significantly enhancing the security capability of key industrial chains such as new energy and integrated circuits; the level of green and low-carbon has been greatly improved, with the capacity of internationally advanced aluminum electrolytic cells of 500 kiloamperes and above accounting for more than 40%, and the comprehensive AC power consumption of aluminum smelting is 700 kilowatt-hours lower than the world average, and more than 95% of copper, lead, and zinc smelting capacity adopts green and low-carbon production processes; the process of digital transformation has accelerated, with the rate of numerical control of key processes and the rate of digitalization of production equipment in the non-ferrous metal industry increasing by 20% and 10% respectively compared to the end of 2020, and a total of 9 excellent intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories have been cultivated.
