According to the SunSirs’commodity market analysis system, the TDI market in East China experiences a downward trend this week. As of August 15, the average price in East China is 16,066 RMB/ton, compared to 16,433 RMB/ton on August 11. This represents a weekly decrease of 2.23% and a year-on-year increase of 13.95%.

Analysis review

The TDI market sees a downward trend this week. High prices, low downstream market participation, and limited demand lead to weak trading volume. Some profit-taking results in a slight downward shift in prices. Suppliers offer firm prices, but supply remains tight. This supply-demand dynamic leads to a softening of TDI market prices.

On the supply side, Xinjiang Juli shut down for maintenance on July 16 for approximately 35 days; Gansu Yinguang shut down for maintenance on July 27 for approximately 10-15 days; and Hebei Cangzhou Dahua plans to temporarily shut down for maintenance in mid-August for approximately 7 days.

Cost: Toluene prices remains stable, averaging 5,560 RMB/ton. The toluene market is impacted by macroeconomic factors, with weak demand leading to price fluctuations.

Market outlook

TDI data analysts oft SunSirs believe that the TDI market will continue to maintain a tight supply situation. Supported by overseas orders, the TDI market is expected to maintain range fluctuations in the short term. Close attention should be paid to changes in market supply and demand and news.
