SunSirs: Domestic MIBK Market Has Limited Fluctuations in August

In August, production is expected to decrease by approximately 2,900 tons to around 12,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of approximately 19%. China's current daily MIBK production is approximately 380 tons, with an operating rate of approximately 50%. Anhui Shengao's 30,000-ton/year MIBK plant was shut down in August, resulting in the entire MIBK supply being sourced externally. Recently, Dongying Yimei's 15,000-ton/year MIBK plant was also shut down for economic reasons, but inventories remain high. Due to these production plant shutdowns, the industry's capacity utilization rate is expected to decline significantly in August.
SunSirs predicts that the downstream antioxidant industry remains weak, with supply constraints. With the peak season and Golden September approaching, downstream demand will rebound, and the market will remain stable in the short term.
