According to the monitoring of SunSirs’ commodity market analysis system: the price of activated charcoal was 12,866 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 12,866 RMB/ton at the weekend, and the price is stable.
Analysis review
Domestic activated charcoal manufacturers' prices remains stable this week. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification in East China is between 9,000 and 13,000 RMB/ton. Due to insufficient supply of coconut in the Asian market and growing demand, the demand for environmentally friendly materials in emerging markets has surged, and the price of coconut shell activated charcoal has remained high.
Internationally: Southeast Asia, the world's main source of coconut shells, suffered multiple natural disasters in 2024. Drought and pests in Thailand led to a reduction in coconut production, increased transportation costs, and a surge in coconut shell purchase prices. The factory price of coconut shell carbonized materials in Southeast Asia, including tax, has exceeded 8,000 RMB/ton, exacerbating domestic production cost pressures.
Market outlook
Due to the shortage of raw materials, transactions are stable, and it is expected that the price of activated charcoal may fluctuate in the short term.
