Analysis review

Supply and Demand

This month, the domestic urea market saw an initial rise followed by a decline. In the first half of the month, domestic urea prices rose strongly. Due to higher-than-expected printed prices, optimism in the nitrogen fertilizer market boosted domestic urea prices, leading to a continued rise in urea prices. Urea market trading heated up, with increased transaction volume. In the second half of the month, domestic urea prices weakened and declined. High market inventories and a weak futures market contributed to a weak urea market.

Market Situation

As of July 31, urea market prices in Shandong were around 1,740-1,820 RMB/ton, in Hebei around 1,750 RMB/ton, in Henan around 1,730-1,790 RMB/ton, and in Liaoning around 1,780 RMB/ton.

According to the weekly K-line chart from May 5, 2024 to July 21, 2025, domestic urea prices experienced both ups and downs during the period. In July, the largest increase in domestic urea prices was 1.65% in the week of July 7, and the largest decrease was 0.48% in the week of July 14.

Future outlook:

Urea analysts of SunSirs believe that the recent urea market was primarily weak and downward. As of July 31, urea supply was sufficient, demand had not yet been fully released, and the futures market was weak. It is expected that the domestic urea market price will consolidate to be weaker in the short term.
