According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of activated charcoal was 12,566 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 12,833 RMB/ton at the end of the month, with a price increase of 2.12%.
Analysis review
Domestic activated charcoal manufacturers' quotations have risen this month. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated charcoal for water purification (iodine value 1000) was between 10,000 and 13,500 RMB/ton. The demand for coconut shell activated charcoal in traditional fields such as water treatment and air purification continued to grow, the market sales were accelerating, and most industry insiders were optimistic about the future market.
Internationally: Multiple natural disasters occurred in 2024: Thailand's coconut production decreased due to drought and pests and diseases. Some production areas in Indonesia were affected by abnormal rainfall at the end of the rainy season, and the efficiency of coconut shell collection decreased, supporting price increases. The factory price of imported coconut shell carbonized materials including tax exceeded 8,000 RMB/ton.
Future outlook:
The domestic supply of activated charcoal raw materials is tight, and it is expected that the price of activated charcoal will fluctuate and rise in the short term..
