According to SunSirs commodity market analysis system, the price of color coated sheets fell slightly last month. On June 1, the market price of color coated sheet was 6633 RMB/ton; on June 30, the price was 6551 RMB/ton. The price of color coated sheets last month fell by 1.23% compared with the beginning of the month, and rose by 0.784% compared with the same period last year.

Analysis and Comments

Galvanized sheet: The price of galvanized sheet fell slightly last month, and prices declined in a stepwise pattern. On June 1, the price of galvanized sheet was 4137 RMB/ton, and on June 30, the price of galvanized sheet was 4080 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.37% from the beginning of June and 16.22% from the same period last year. The downstream demand of the coating and plating market was tepid, and the market transactions remained sluggish.

According to the data from the General Administration of Customs, in May 2025, China's total exports of galvanized sheets (strips) totaled 1.7499 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 4.79% and a year-on-year increase of 10.51%. From January to May 2025, China's total exports of galvanized sheets (strips) totaled 8.6194 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.64%. In May 2025, my country's total imports of galvanized sheets (strips) totaled 67,400 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 5.65% and a year-on-year decrease of 41.02%. From January to April 2025, China's total imports of galvanized sheets (strips) totaled 375,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.20%.

Last month, the national average price of color coated sheets continued to fall, and the decline continued to narrow. In terms of price, the market price fell by 80 RMB/ton last month. In terms of raw materials, the price of raw materials fell by 10 RMB/ton month-on-month last month. The settlement price of Handan Xing hot-rolled coil in June was 3170 RMB/ton, which was at a high level. The cost support of raw material hot-rolled coil for color coated sheets still exists. Although the capacity utilization rate of steel mills fell slightly in the month, the supply remained at a high level. The social inventory of color coated sheets decreased slightly ast month, but the inventory liquidation was still slow. In terms of exports, exports maintained high growth year-on-year from January to May. From January to May, the total export volume of coated plates (strips) in my country totaled 3.8477 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 32.45%.

Market outlook

In terms of raw materials, the price of raw materials did not change much this week, and the settlement price in June was high, so the cost support still exists. From the perspective of total inventory, although the total inventory of color coated sheets decreased slightly this week, the inventory reduction speed was slow. Overall, the current cost support of color coated sheets still exists, the demand performance is general, and the inventory reduction speed is slow. It is expected that the price of color coated sheets will continue to adjust weakly next week.
