June 16 2025 11:19:50     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the TDI market in East China experienced a wide decline last week. As of June 9th, the average market price in East China was 11,933 RMB/ton, and on June 13th it was 11,33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 4.19% during the week and a year-on-year decrease of 22.22%.

Analysis review

Supply side: Gansu Yinguang was operating at medium to high loads, while Shanghai BASF was restarting. The 300,000 ton/year TDI plant in Fujian underwent maintenance on June 5th, lasting for 45 days.

Cost sidee: The price of toluene increased, with an average price of 5,660 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 5,720 RMB/ton over the weekend, representing a 1.08% increase during the week. Some enterprises stopped for maintenance, resulting in tight supply, coupled with rising oil prices, which jointly drove up the price of toluene.

Market outlook

The TDI data analyst from SunSirs believes that the TDI price fell to a low level and the decline rate  slowed down, but demand was unlikely to show a significant improvement, and it is expected that the TDI market will operate to be weaker in the short term.
