Safras&Mercado stated that Brazil's soybean production for 2024/25 is expected to be 172.45 million tons, a decrease of 2.43 million tons from the previously estimated 174.88 million tons, due to climate issues in Rio Grande do Sul causing a decrease in yield in the state.
Nevertheless, this production will still reach a historic high, 13.2% higher than the previous year's 152.3 million tons.
The company stated that the soybean planting area will increase by 2.2% in 2024/25, reaching 47.47 million hectares; The survey shows that the yield of soybeans has increased from 3295 kilograms per hectare at the end of last year to 3651 kilograms per hectare.
