According to data from SunSirs’ data, seamless tube prices have slightly increased this week. As of the weekend, the price of 108 * 4.5 and 20# seamless tubes was quoted at 4,220 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.48% from the beginning of the week and a year-on-year decrease of 11.99%.
Analysis review
This week, the price of raw material billets has slightly increased, and the factory quotation for 20 # hot-rolled billets was temporarily 3,420-3,520 RMB/ton.
Almost all steel mills have resumed production, and the output was gradually recovering. After the holiday, the terminal operating rate has significantly increased, coupled with macro positive news, the purchasing enthusiasm has been restored, and the transaction volume has improved compared to before.
The recent high volatility of ferrous futures has provided some support for seamless tube prices. The combination of macroeconomic expectations continued to heat up, and the two sessions held in early March have begun to warm up, with the market still having expectations. The demand was gradually recovering, and the overall inventory of seamless tubes was not high. There were some resource shortages, and the supply-demand contradiction was not significant, providing a basis for seamless tube price increases.
