According to data from SunSirs, seamless tube prices have slightly increased this week, with most quotations remaining stable. As of the weekend, the price of 20 #, 108 * 4.5 seamless tubes was quoted at 4,205 RMB/ton, up 0.06% from the beginning of the week and down 11.84% year-on-year.
Analysis review
This week, the price of raw material billets has slightly decreased, and the factory quotation for 20 # hot-rolled billets was 3,400-3,530 RMB/ton.
Ferrous series futures declined slightly. Recently, the market demand was weak, and the spot market quotation was temporarily in the adjustment stage. After the Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival) Festival, the market spot resources were sufficient, but the demand release was insufficient, and some steel mills were eager to accept orders, resulting in small fluctuations in the market price, which was difficult to rise.
Market outlook
Recently, with the downward trend in futures and the market not fully resuming work, seamless tube prices have generally fallen slightly, and even some merchants have secretly reduced prices for sales. Some of the goods on sales were still orders from before the year. As of February 14tj, most of the tube factories have started production and were operating normally. There were fewer orders after the year, but as the number of enterprises resuming work increases, demand will gradually be released. It is expected that the price of seamless tubes will remain stable in the short term.
