SunSirs: Cost Boost, China BOPP Film Falls and Rises in April

April 26 2024 11:21:41     SunSirs (Selena)

According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, the BOPP market fell first and then rose this month. As of April 25th, the mainstream quoted price of 18 μm BOPP film from China domestic producers and traders is around 9,650.00 RMB/ton, an increase of about 0.43% compared to the beginning of the month. The highest point of the price occurred in the latter part of this month, at 9,650.00 RMB/ton, and the lowest point occurred in the first ten days, with a price of about 9,583.33 RMB/ton.

In terms of raw materials: From the above chart, it can be seen that the price of raw material PP has fluctuated and increased this month. The mainstream quoted price of T30S (wire drawing) by domestic manufacturers and traders is around 7,850.00 RMB/ton, which is about 1.4% higher than the price level at the beginning of the month. The highest point of the price appeared in the latter half of the year, at 7,850.00 RMB/ton, and the lowest point appeared in the first half of the year, at a price of about 7,740 RMB/ton. On the cost side, there is strong support for BOPP prices and greater pressure.

Supply: The operating load rate of membrane enterprises is still at a relatively high level, about 53%. The supply side is sufficient, and the inventory pressure of membrane enterprises increases.

In terms of demand: Downstream enterprises have not shown signs of improvement in demand, with mostly just in demand replenishment, insufficient demand, flat trading, low transaction volume, and a wait-and-see attitude. Purchasing intentions are not high, and market demand has weak support for prices.

The cost side boost of BOPP is limited, and the market trading atmosphere is weak. It is expected that BOPP prices will fluctuate and consolidate in the near future.
