The price of crude oil continued to rise, while the price of propylene, a raw material for isobutyraldehyde, fluctuated and rose. Downstream inventory of neopentyl glycol was destocked, and the demand support for the cost increase of isobutyraldehyde was limited. The driving force for the price increase of isobutyraldehyde was increasing.

The price of raw material propylene fluctuated and rose

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of April 19th, the price of propylene was 6,932.60 RMB/ton, a fluctuating increase of 0.58% compared to the price of 6,892.60 RMB/ton on April 12th. The price of raw material crude oil continued to rise, the cost of propylene had risen, the supply of propylene was sufficient, downstream construction had increased, and the enthusiasm for propylene transactions had increased. This week, the support for propylene's rise had increased.

Limited downstream demand support

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of April 19th, the price of neopentyl glycol was 9,933.33 RMB/ton, which was temporarily stable compared to the price of 9,933.33 RMB/ton quoted on April 12th. This week, some neopentyl glycol factories saw a slight rebound in their quotations, and neopentyl glycol manufacturers slowly reduced their inventory; Formaldehyde prices fluctuated and rose, while isobutyraldehyde prices fluctuated and rose. In terms of raw materials, the upward momentum of neopentyl glycol increased; Downstream demand for neopentyl glycol was weak. This week, the downward pressure on neopentyl glycol had weakened, and there was still upward momentum.
