SunSirs :The Coal Market Prices in Hunan Slightly Decreased in the Fifth Week of January

According to monitoring data from the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce on the circulation market of production materials throughout the province, from January 29th to February 4th, the average sales price of coal in Hunan Province was 1070.52 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.2% and a year-on-year decrease of 13.9%. By variety, the average sales price of anthracite coal is 1392.75 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.1% and a year-on-year decrease of 17.8%; The average selling price of bituminous coal is 909.4 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.2% and a year-on-year decrease of 10.8%.

After two consecutive weeks of rising prices, the coal market prices in Hunan Province have slightly declined. The main reason for the slight decline in coal market prices is that downstream industrial coal enterprises have gradually stopped production and taken vacations, and the centralized replenishment of stocks has basically ended before the year.

Currently, the supply of imported coal by Hunan Provincial Governor Xiehe is stable. From January to December 2023, Hunan's coal production reached 9.445 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%, ranking 16th in the country. Among them, Hunan's coal production in December was 1.054 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.6%, an increase of 225000 tons from November's production of 829000 tons, an increase of 27.14%, ranking 16th in the country and one place higher than November. Against the backdrop of increasing production and ensuring supply, transportation capacity, and reserve capacity, coal supply will continue to steadily increase in the future. Before the Spring Festival, downstream industrial coal demand will fall, and the coal market will show a pattern of weak supply and demand. It is expected that the coal market prices in the province will mainly fluctuate steadily with small fluctuations during the Spring Festival period.
