According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 19th, the price of DOTP was 11,912.50 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.10% compared to the price of DOTP on February 9th before the holiday, which was 11,925 RMB/ton; Compared to the price of 11937.50 RMB/ton on January 31st, the price of DOTP decreased by 0.21%. The price of raw material 2-EH had increased, costs had risen, plasticizer manufacturers had resumed production after the holiday, DOTP supply had increased, and DOTP prices had fluctuated and fallen after the holiday.

After the holiday, the price of 2-EH increased

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 19th, the quotation for 2-EH was 12,450 RMB/ton, a fluctuating increase of 0.81% compared to the quotation for 2-EH on February 9th before the holiday, which was 12,350 RMB/ton; Compared to the price of 12,375 RMB/ton on February 1st at the beginning of the month, the price increased by 0.61%. During the Spring Festival, the operating load of 2-EH enterprises decreased, but there was some recovery after the holiday. In addition, downstream customers restocked, and the demand for 2-EH slowly rebounded. During the Spring Festival, the price of 2-EH remained high, and after the holiday, the price of 2-EH had slightly increased.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ plasticizer product data analysts believe that during the Spring Festival, plasticizer manufacturers had seen a decrease in production, but after the holiday, plasticizer production had resumed, and the supply of plasticizers had increased. In addition, the price of 2-EH had risen, leading to an increase in the cost of plasticizer DOTP. In the future, as the cost of plasticizers increases and supply increases, the support for DOTP increases is limited, and downward pressure still exists. It is expected that DOTP prices will be weakly consolidated in the future.
