Analysis review

Bromine prices had increased this month. The mainstream price in the Shandong market was around 25,000-255,00 RMB/ton. In early November, market prices increased slightly. The main reason was due to a slight decrease in supply recently. Bromine companies were reluctant to sell, with some manufacturers pushing up the price of bromine, and various bromine companies actively following suit. After mid to late November, bromine prices had stabilized, seawater bromine production had decreased, and brine bromine supply remained relatively stable. The downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing on demand recently, with a strong wait-and-see attitude.

Regarding sulfur: The overall price of sulfur increased in November. At the beginning of the month, the average market price was 943.33 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average market price was 1,066.67 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 13.07% and a year-on-year decrease of 24.35%. Some enterprise installations on site were undergoing maintenance, sulfuric acid supply was tightening, the fertilizer industry was actively purchasing, demand was performing well, acid companies were shipping smoothly, and the focus of transactions in the sulfuric acid market was increasing.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the price of bromine had recently risen overall this month and was maintaining a consolidation trend as of November 30th. Bromine was gradually decreasing with the decrease in temperature, and the production of seawater bromine was gradually decreasing. The downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries were generally supported, and the market was mainly cautious in procurement. It is expected that the price of bromine will consolidate in the short term, depending on downstream market demand.
