SunSirs: The Spot Market Price of Glass slightly Decreased in China Last Week (November 17-24)

According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the spot market price of glass continued to weaken last week, with an average price of 21.78 RMB/square meter last Friday. The price decreased by 2.02% during the week.

Last week, the spot glass market prices continued to weaken, and the overall industry production and sales situation in the market was average. Except for Northeast China, inventory levels of enterprises in all regions have decreased. From a regional perspective, the trading situation in the glass spot market in Shahe, North China is average, with a slight decrease in market prices, which is beneficial for enterprises to reduce inventory. Overall, inventory has decreased. The market trading situation in the East China region is relatively light, with downstream demand for goods and a slight decrease in enterprise inventory. The overall production and sales in the central region of China are still good, and the decrease in enterprise prices has stimulated downstream purchases, resulting in a rapid decline in factory inventory. The production and sales situation of glass in South China is average, and there is a strong demand for replenishment in the middle and downstream markets, resulting in a decrease in enterprise inventory. The glass market in the southwest region is still viable, and enterprise inventories have decreased. In the northwest region, the trading volume is average, and the decrease in enterprise inventory is relatively small. The market situation in the Northeast region is light, and inventory has slightly increased.

According to the commodity analysis system of SunSirs, the price of soda ash remained strong last week. The price of soda ash in the East China region is strong, with the mainstream market price for light soda ash being around 2,250-2,450 RMB/ton. The price of soda ash in North China is strong, with the mainstream market price for light soda ash being around 2,350-2,550 RMB/ton. Data shows that the operating rate of soda ash this week is around 88%.

In terms of liquefied natural gas, according to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the domestic price of liquefied natural gas increased last week. As of November 24th, the average price of liquefied natural gas in China was 5,288 RMB/ton, which is a 4.92% increase compared to the average price of 5,054 RMB/ton on November 17th. Liquefied natural gas analysts from SunSirs believe that the recent cold air in China has led to an increase in downstream replenishment demand, and the market is operating at a high price. In terms of sea and gas, prices at some receiving stations have increased.

According to SunSirs, spot prices in the glass market continued to decline last week. The upstream pure alkali price is operating steadily, while the price of liquefied natural gas is rising. Overall, cost support is still acceptable. In terms of demand, the real estate market has performed poorly, with many processing enterprises in the middle and lower reaches mainly observing. The rush to work in the northern region has not been as strong as expected, and the main focus is on obtaining goods for immediate needs. It is expected that the glass spot market will be weak and consolidating in the short term.
