On September 21st, the average market price of 230g-400g white cardboard was 4,906.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.68% compared to the average market price of 4,873.33 RMB/ton on September 17th. On September 21st, the average market price of 250g gray base white board paper was 4,332.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.36% compared to the average market price of 4,232.33 RMB/ton on September 17th.

By observing market changes, it can be seen that the white cardboard market price has maintained an upward trend this week, with the overall paper market continuing to recover and market confidence continuing to improve. In the current context of intensified price competition, the production and sales of white card paper mills are stable, and inventory is at a low level. Therefore, the market intends to continue to raise prices. Due to cost pressures, traders are also reluctant to sell at low prices, resulting in a decrease in shipments. However, as the Double Festival approaches and downstream early orders are basically completed, the current increase in white cardboard is relatively slow, and businesses are mostly wait-and-see in the future.

The price of gray based white board paper has shown an increase, due to the early conversion of white board paper factories to other products, resulting in a decrease in the supply of white board paper in the market. With the arrival of the traditional peak season, market demand has started to rebound. In addition, the recent frequent price increase letters from finished paper mills have driven the price of gray base white board paper to rise.

Paper analysts from SunSirs believe that the papermaking industry has shown signs of overall recovery in recent times. Major paper companies have issued price increase letters targeting multiple types of paper and expressed confidence in the upcoming demand recovery in October and even the entire fourth quarter. It is expected that the prices of white cardboard and gray based white cardboard will temporarily fluctuate and consolidate in the short term.
