According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 4th, the price of DOTP was 12,031 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.87% compared to the price of 12,260 RMB/ton on August 28th. The price of 2-EH had decreased, PTA prices stopped rising and stabilized, raw material cost support had weakened, downstream PVC market had stabilized, and plasticizer demand support was not there. This week, the price of plasticizer DOTP had fallen from its high point.

The price of 2-EH had dropped from high levels this week

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of 2-EH on September 4th was 12,970 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.54% compared to the price of 13,040 RMB/ton on August 29th. The domestic 2-EH plant started operating and restarted, and the supply of 2-EH had rebounded, resulting in a high price drop for 2-EH.

PTA prices stopped rising and stabilized this week

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the PTA price on September 4th was 6,179.09 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.61% compared to the PTA price of 6,081.36 RMB/ton on August 28th. Crude oil prices fluctuated and rose, PTA costs rose, PTA prices fluctuated and rose, plasticizer DOTP raw material costs rose, and the support for future DOTP increased.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ plasticizer product data analysts believe that the slow recovery of 2-EH production, the fluctuating rise of 2-EH prices, PTA prices, and the cost support for plasticizer product DOTP still existed; PVC prices were stabilizing, and downstream PVC procurement enthusiasm had rebounded less than expected, resulting in insufficient support for plasticizer demand. In the future, there is still insufficient demand support for cost support, and it is expected that the price of plasticizer DOTP will fall from a high point in the future.
