SunSirs: Bromine Prices Stopped Falling and May Temporarily Stabilize in the Future

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine temporarily stabilized this week. The average market price from the beginning of the week to Wednesday was 18,000 RMB/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 69.23%.

On June 20th, the bromine commodity index was 63.16 points, unchanged from the precious day, a decrease of 74.24% from the cycle's highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27), and an increase of 7.20% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29th, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1st, 2011 to the present)

Analysis review

Bromine prices were temporarily stable this week. The mainstream market price in Shandong was around 17,000-18,500 RMB/ton. The overall trading atmosphere in the bromine market was average, with the recent peak season of seawater bromine production. The downstream support was average, and the flame retardant and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing according to demand recently. The attitude of the bromine industry was average. The intention to stabilize the price of bromine was relatively obvious, and the industry mentality was gradually stabilizing.

In terms of raw materials, the domestic sulfur market was operating weakly this week, with an average market price of 803.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 796.67 RMB/ton on Wednesday. The price had decreased by 0.83%, and a year-on-year decrease of 79.43%. The production of the manufacturer was stable, the inventory of the manufacturer was sufficient, and the downstream enthusiasm was not good. A small number of purchases were followed up according to demand, and the market trading atmosphere was weak. The short-term sulfur market will be running light.

Market outlook

The price of bromine was temporarily stable recently, while the upstream sulfur price declined. The demand for downstream flame retardants and intermediates in the bromine industry was still average. Bromine companies had a clear intention to support prices recently, and the mentality of the industry was gradually turning to stable. Overall, it is expected that the price of bromine will temporarily stabilize in the short term, depending on downstream market demand.
