According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price center of viscose staple fibers slightly decreased this week (June 5-9, 2023). As of June 9, the domestic factory quotation for 1.2D * 38mm viscose staple fibers was 13,260 RMB/ton, a decrease of 100 RMB/ton from last week's price, with a weekly decrease of 0.75%.

Analysis review

This week (June 5-9, 2023), a new round of prices for viscose staple fiber factories was introduced, with a decent volume of signed orders and a slight decrease in prices. Overall stability maintenance was the main focus, while actual orders were mainly negotiated. There was not much change in production costs, raw materials were maintained, and cost support was limited. The price center of raw material dissolving pulp was stable, and the domestic market was basically stable; The price of imported dissolving pulp was basically maintained. Downstream rayon yarn shipments had slowed down, prices had partially declined, product inventory pressure had gradually increased, and the overall operating load had a downward trend.

The price center of raw material dissolving pulp remained stable, and a manufacturer in Shandong produced broad leaf  dissolving pulp after the overhaul; Hunan manufacturers produced coniferous dissolving pulp, and planed to switch to broad leaf  dissolving pulp around the beginning of the month; A factory in Fujian changed to produce bamboo dissolving pulp and planned to produce it for about one week. Imported broad leaf dissolving pulp was about 900 dollars/ton, and  dissolving pulp was about 920 dollars/ton.

Downstream rayon yarn shipments had slowed down, prices had partially declined, transactions had been average, product inventory pressure had gradually increased, and the overall operating load had a downward trend. Under inventory pressure in some enterprises, there was a phenomenon of reducing price reduction to sell goods. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of June 9th, the average ex factory price of rayon yarn (30S, ring spinning, first-class products) was 17,466 RMB/ton, a decrease of 100 RMB/ton compared to last week's price. As of June 9, it was difficult for the demand in the textile terminal market to significantly improve, and yarn enterprises were also difficult to have a strong position. They often adjusted their negotiation space based on their own shipment situation.

Market outlook

Recently, the market supply was stable, and the overall buying and selling atmosphere in the short-term market was limited. With the introduction of a new round of prices, the market focused on signing orders recently. In the absence of significant improvement in terminal demand, analysts from SunSirs predict that the prices of viscose staple fibers and rayon yarn may continue to remain stable in the short term.
