According to data monitoring by SunSirs, as of April 7, 2023, the reference average price of 30% grade phosphate rock in China was around 1,110 RMB/ton; Compared to April 1, 2023 (reference price of phosphate rock was 1,118 RMB/ton), the price was reduced by 8 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.72%; Compared to January 1, 2023 (the reference price of phosphate rock was 1,056 RMB/ton), the price increased by 44 RMB/ton, an increase of 5.11%.

Analysis review

From the data monitoring chart of SunSirs, it can be seen that in the first week of April, the domestic mid to high-end grade phosphate rock market as a whole moved slightly downwards from a high level. Affected by the weak decline of phosphorus yellow and phosphoric acid prices in the downstream of the industrial chain, the mentality of the internal operators of the phosphate rock field was average, and the overall trading atmosphere in the market had weakened compared to the previous period, with a strong wait-and-see sentiment. This week, mining companies in some regions of Sichuan and Yunnan slightly lowered the prices of mid to high-end grade phosphate rock, with a reduction of around 10-20 RMB/ton. As of April 7, the domestic market price of 30% grade phosphate rock was around 1,050-1,150 RMB/ton, and the price of 28% grade phosphate rock was around 960-990 RMB/ton. The reference price for 32% grade phosphate rock was around 1,180-1,220 RMB/ton. Due to factors such as the specifications of the original ore and the powder to lump ratio, there was also a difference in the specific price, which needed to be negotiated on a real order basis.

Market outlook

As of the 7th, the trading atmosphere in the phosphate rock field was average, and downstream was cautious to receiving orders. According to the phosphate rock data analyst of SunSirs, in the short term, the domestic phosphate rock market will mostly be stable with small fluctuations, and the specific trend still needs to pay more attention to changes in supply and demand information.
