SunSirs: This Week, the Phosphate Rock Market Remained Stable at a High Level (February 27-March 3)

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of March 2, 2023, the reference average price of 30% grade phosphate rock in China was around 1,074 RMB/ton, which was basically the same as that of February 27. Compared with February 1 (the reference price of phosphate rock was 1,056 RMB/ton), the price increased by 18 RMB/ton, or 1.70%.

Analysis review

It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that this week (2.27-3.03), the overall domestic phosphate rock market remained stable at a high level. As of the 3rd, the trading atmosphere in the phosphate rock field was good. With the arrival of the Spring Festival, the demand at the downstream of the terminal gradually increased, and the overall supply in the phosphate rock field continued to be tense. As of March 2, 2023, the domestic market price of 30% grade phosphate rock was around 1,050-1,100 RMB/ton, and the price of 28% grade phosphate rock was around 950-980 RMB/ton. The reference price of 32% grade phosphate rock was around 1,180-1,250 RMB/ton. Due to factors such as the specification of raw ore and the ratio of powder to lump, the specific price was also different, and the specific price needed to be negotiated on a real basis.

Market outlook

As of March 3, the supply and demand information in the phosphate rock field had not changed much. The high market price was mostly supported by the supply side, and the demand side was generally stable. The phosphate rock statistician of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the domestic phosphate rock market will mostly be stable and consolidated, and the specific trend needs to pay more attention to the changes in the information on the supply and demand side.
