Domestic commercial inventories of rapeseed oil continue to trend downward. Disruptions caused by Russian rapeseed quarantine policies have led to lowered expectations for near-term arrivals, limiting the volume of imports. Currently, high import costs for rapeseed mean that crushing operations are unprofitable; consequently, crushers are reluctant to sell, and the release of spot market supplies remains cautious.
Downstream procurement remains cautious, with buyers largely adopting a "purchase-as-needed" approach and avoiding large-scale stockpiling. Overall demand from the catering and industrial sectors is lackluster; high prices have dampened purchasing enthusiasm, leaving the market dominated by small-to-medium orders driven by essential needs. Soybean oil and palm oil hold a price advantage, creating a substitution effect that further limits growth in demand for rapeseed oil.
While rapeseed oil inventories remain low, high prices are suppressing downstream procurement, resulting in weak end-user demand. The market is likely to continue fluctuating at high levels in the near future.
