I. China Wholesale Price Situation of Fresh Agricultural Products

According to the monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the "200 Index of Agricultural Product Wholesale Prices" for the 36th week of 2026 (August 31 - September 6, 2026, the same below) stood at 116.23 (with 2015 as the base year of 100), an increase of 0.60 points from the previous week and a decrease of 3.02 points year-on-year; the "Wholesale Price Index of 'Vegetable Basket' Products" was 116.89 (with 2015 as the base year of 100), up 0.70 points from the previous week and down 3.53 points year-on-year.

1. Prices of pork, beef and mutton rose month-on-month, while egg prices fell month-on-month. The weekly average price of pork in wholesale markets was 16.32 RMB per kilogram, up 0.6% month-on-month and 17.4% year-on-year; the weekly average price of beef in wholesale markets was 69.59 RMB per kilogram, up 1.2% month-on-month and 6.8% year-on-year; the weekly average price of mutton in wholesale markets was 66.13 RMB per kilogram, up 0.5% month-on-month and 8.9% year-on-year; the weekly average price of broiler chicken in wholesale markets was 17.25 RMB per kilogram, up 0.5% month-on-month and 1.3% year-on-year. The weekly average price of eggs in wholesale markets was 10.83 RMB per kilogram, down 0.7% month-on-month and 41.9% year-on-year.

2. The average price of vegetables rose slightly month-on-month. The weekly average wholesale price of 28 monitored vegetables was 4.64 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2% month-on-month and 8.5% lower year-on-year. By variety, 11 vegetables saw price increases, 3 remained unchanged, and 14 experienced declines. Among them, the price of cucumbers rose 13.2% month-on-month, while the price increases of other varieties were within 5%. The prices of cauliflower, eggplants and Chinese cabbage remained basically unchanged month-on-month. The prices of spinach and lotus root fell by 2.7% and 2.5% month-on-month respectively, and the price declines of other varieties were within 2%.

3. Prices of various aquatic products fell month-on-month. The weekly average wholesale prices per kilogram for silver carp, bighead carp, large hairtail, common carp, grass carp and crucian carp were 10.22 RMB, 17.83 RMB, 42.12 RMB, 14.12 RMB, 17.85 RMB and 20.22 RMB respectively, down 2.1%, 1.8%, 1.6%, 1.0%, 0.7% and 0.3% month-on-month. The weekly average wholesale price per kilogram for large yellow croaker was 48.55 RMB, up 2.2% month-on-month.

4. The average price of fruits fell slightly month-on-month. The weekly average price per kilogram of the 6 key monitored fruits at wholesale markets was 6.62 RMB, down 0.6% month-on-month and 3.5% lower year-on-year. By variety, the weekly average wholesale prices of Kyoho grapes, bananas and pineapples fell by 2.5%, 2.1% and 0.8% month-on-month respectively; the weekly average prices of watermelons, Fuji apples and Ya pears rose by 4.3%, 0.4% and 0.2% month-on-month respectively.

II. Prices of Major International Agricultural Products Mostly Rise

The weekly average closing prices of the recent futures contracts for wheat, corn, soybeans and soybean oil at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the United States were 274 US dollars, 213 US dollars, 481 US dollars and 1,550 US dollars per ton respectively, representing a month-on-month increase of 3.3%, 2.2%, 4.2% and 3.3% and a year-on-year increase of 47.6%, 29.2%, 27.8% and 37.3% respectively. The weekly average price of raw sugar from the International Sugar Council was 18.55 US cents per pound (409 US dollars per ton), up 1.9% month-on-month and 13.0% year-on-year. The International Cotton Price Index (SM grade) stood at 101.26 US cents per pound (2,232 US dollars per ton), up 1.7% month-on-month and 33.7% year-on-year. The weekly average FOB price of Thai 100% Grade B rice with 5% broken content in Bangkok was 487 US dollars and 481 US dollars per ton respectively, up 1.2% and 1.3% month-on-month and 25.9% and 29.5% year-on-year respectively.
