As of September 4, 2026, total rapeseed oil inventories across key regions in China stood at 513,500 tonnes, a decrease of 22,500 tonnes from the previous week. Specifically, inventories at major coastal oil mills fell by 4,500 tonnes to 28,500 tonnes; East China inventories dropped by 7,000 tonnes to 343,000 tonnes; and inventories in the Sichuan-Chongqing region declined by 11,000 tonnes to 142,000 tonnes.
Regarding the spot market, the total national inventory reduction of 22,500 tonnes—driven by simultaneous declines across key areas such as coastal mills, East China, and the Sichuan-Chongqing region—indicates a marginal tightening of supply, providing support for spot prices. On the futures front, the bullish fundamental signal of declining inventories is expected to transmit to the market, driving rapeseed oil futures prices to trade with a firm tone.
