On September 1, prices for butadiene rubber (BR) in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions saw a significant increase. Driven by fluctuating crude oil prices trending upward and heightened geopolitical risks in the Middle East, BR received strong cost-side support; coupled with rising futures prices, spot market traders raised their offers by 200–300 RMB/tonne. Currently, mainstream quotes for BR from Daqing, Sichuan, and Dushanzi range from 15,100 to 15,300 RMB/tonne.
In the spot market, strong cost support—stemming from rising crude oil prices and escalating Middle East geopolitical tensions—pushed BR prices in Jiangsu and Zhejiang up sharply. Traders raised offers by 200–300 RMB/tonne, with mainstream quotes for Daqing, Sichuan, and Dushanzi BR currently at 15,100–15,300 RMB/tonne; spot market trading activity is positive. Regarding futures, the benchmark BR contract (2610) on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at 15,000 RMB/tonne on August 31, up 280 RMB/tonne from the previous trading day. With a trading volume of 256,848 lots and open interest of 57,164 lots, the futures price trend remains bullish; combined with sustained cost-side support, there is further room for price appreciation.
