Currently, natural rubber is exhibiting resilience against declines amidst a fluctuating market, with bullish characteristics becoming prominent; however, as prices are already in a near-one-year high range, there is limited upside potential, and caution regarding volatility at these high levels is warranted.
Spot Market: On August 31, the natural rubber market in Qingdao continued to rise. Fluctuations and gains in Shanghai rubber futures prompted spot traders to raise their offers. Mainstream quotes were 17,950–18,200 RMB/ton for 2024-production Yunbao/Guangken/Haibao rubber; 18,150–18,350 RMB/ton for 2025-production Yunbao/Guangken/Haibao rubber; and 18,800–18,950 RMB/ton for Vietnamese 3L rubber.
Production Areas: On August 31, raw material prices in Thai production areas saw stable-to-rising trends. Smoked sheets remained flat at 85.50 THB/kg; field latex rose by 0.30 THB/kg to 78.00 THB/kg; and cup lump rose by 0.20 THB/kg to 71.15 THB/kg.
Import/Export: In the first seven months of 2026, Thailand's total natural rubber exports (excluding compound rubber) amounted to 1.419 million tons, down 11% year-on-year. Specifically, exports of Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) fell by 12% and latex exports by 13%; the contraction in overseas supply provided price support.
Domestic Supply: From January to July 2026, the cumulative processing volume of standard natural rubber in Xishuangbanna reached 516,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%; the increase in domestic supply exerted some downward pressure on high prices.
