According to monitoring by the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, as of August 28, the domestic spot price for Grade 3128B lint cotton stood at 18,264 RMB/ton, marking a single-day increase of 0.51%. The dominant Zhengzhou Cotton contract (CF2601) fluctuated upward during the session, closing at 17,200 RMB/ton—a rise of 160 RMB/ton, or 0.94%.
The rotation sale of state-reserve cotton continues to see high transaction volumes; on August 27, 8,032 tonnes were listed, achieving a 100% clearance rate at an average price of 17,433.47 RMB/ton. While the released stocks supplement supplies of low-to-medium grade cotton, high-grade spot cotton remains in tight supply.
The downstream textile sector is approaching its traditional peak season; operating rates at textile mills are recovering slowly, and cotton yarn inventories are gradually being depleted. Although orders for the autumn/winter season are materializing, there has been no large-scale, concentrated restocking; most enterprises are purchasing on an as-needed basis, acquiring small batches when prices dip.
