1. [US Core PCE Price Index] The US core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index rose 0.2% month-on-month in July, matching the forecast and up from the previous 0.1%. Year-on-year, the US core PCE rose 3.3%, in line with both the forecast and the previous reading.

2. [South Korea Interest Rates] The Bank of Korea raised its benchmark interest rate from 2.75% to 3.00%, marking a rate hike for the second consecutive meeting, in line with market expectations.

Building Materials

1. [Corrugated Paper] Recently, Saudi Arabia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into multi-layer corrugated paperboard originating from China and India. The products involved are multi-layer corrugated paperboards with a basis weight of 180 to 500 g/m² and grey, white, or other colored liners.

2. [Wastepaper] On August 26, 2026, Tianjin Nine Dragons Paper lowered its wastepaper purchase price by 20 RMB/tonne; the adjusted price upon delivery to the mill is 1,870 RMB/tonne.

Henan Xinxiang Henry Paper lowered its waste paper purchase price by 30 RMB/tonne; the adjusted price upon delivery (including standard VAT invoice) is 2,000 RMB/tonne.

Guangdong Dongguan Nine Dragons Paper lowered its waste paper purchase price by 30 RMB/tonne; the adjusted price upon delivery to the mill is 2,000 RMB/tonne.
