China's peak season for summer grain procurement is in full swing. The latest data from the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration shows that grain enterprises nationwide have purchased a cumulative total of over 90 million tons of wheat, while early-season *indica* rice from southern regions has begun to hit the market in large volumes. Procurement operations are proceeding in an orderly manner across the country, with overall progress running smoothly.

An official from the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration stated that, to safeguard the interests of grain farmers, relevant state departments have—since August—activated minimum purchase price schemes for early-season *indica* rice in Jiangxi and Hunan, and for wheat in Henan and Anhui. These measures serve to provide a policy-driven price floor and stabilize market expectations.

Moving forward, the Administration will continue to combine market-oriented purchasing with policy-based state stockpiling. It will closely monitor weather conditions—such as rainfall—and guide relevant provinces to strengthen grain drying and storage capabilities, optimize procurement arrangements, and help farmers minimize post-harvest losses. At the same time, efforts will be made to deepen cooperation between grain-producing and grain-consuming regions and strengthen links between farmers and enterprises, ensuring smooth grain sales for farmers and promoting stable market operations.
