According to the monitoring of 500 county fairs and collection points across the country, in the first week of August (collection date: August 6), the prices of commercial broiler chicks and beef cattle rose month-on-month, while the prices of pig products, eggs, chicken, live sheep, and fattening pig compound feed fell month-on-month. The prices of commercial layer chicks, mutton, fresh milk, corn, soybean meal, broiler compound feed, and layer chicken compound feed remained unchanged month-on-month.
Prices of pig products. The national average price of piglets was 22.42 RMB per kilogram, down 2.5% from the previous week and 35.3% year-on-year. Piglet prices in all 20 monitored provinces of China fell. South China had the highest price at 25.39 RMB per kilogram; Northeast China had the lowest at 21.43 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 11.13 RMB per kilogram, down 0.8% from the previous week and 23.4% year-on-year. Pig prices rose in 9 provinces including Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Gansu and Shaanxi, fell in 20 provinces including Heilongjiang, Tianjin, Jilin, Shanxi and Hainan, and remained flat in Xinjiang. South China had the highest price at 11.82 RMB per kilogram; Northeast China had the lowest at 10.56 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of pork was 20.82 RMB per kilogram, down 0.4% from the previous week and 17.2% year-on-year. Pork prices rose in 8 provinces including Guizhou, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Guangdong and Gansu, fell in 20 provinces including Liaoning, Anhui, Qinghai, Heilongjiang and Hainan, and remained flat in Shanghai and Guangxi. South China had the highest price at 23.88 RMB per kilogram; Northeast China had the lowest at 17.71 RMB per kilogram.
Prices of Poultry Products. The national average price of eggs was 10.83 RMB per kilogram, down 1.1% from the previous week and up 23.8% year-on-year. The average price of eggs in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Liaoning was 9.94 RMB per kilogram, down 2.0% from the previous week and up 36.4% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken was 22.34 RMB per kilogram, down 0.1% from the previous week and down 0.3% year-on-year. The average price of commercial layer chicks was 3.91 RMB per chick, unchanged from the previous week and up 3.4% year-on-year. The average price of commercial broiler chicks was 3.40 RMB per chick, up 0.3% from the previous week and up 3.7% year-on-year.
Prices of cattle and sheep products. The national average price of beef is 73.89 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1% from the previous week and 5.8% year-on-year. The price of beef in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Inner Mongolia is 68.42 RMB per kilogram, rising 0.1% from the previous week. The price of live cattle in major producing provinces is 28.46 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2% from the previous week and 6.6% year-on-year. The national average price of mutton is 72.91 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and up 6.1% year-on-year. The price of mutton in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Inner Mongolia is 71.30 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week. The price of live sheep in major producing provinces is 30.64 RMB per kilogram, down 0.2% from the previous week and up 7.7% year-on-year.
Raw milk prices. The average price of raw milk in 10 major producing provinces including Inner Mongolia and Hebei stood at 3.06 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and up 1.3% year-on-year.
Feed prices. The national average price of corn is 2.47 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 1.2% year-on-year. The corn price in the three major northeastern producing provinces is 2.31 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.4% from the previous week; the corn price in Guangdong Province, a major sales area, is 2.48 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.4% from the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal is 3.23 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 1.5% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for finishing pigs is 3.35 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.3% from the previous week and down 1.2% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broilers is 3.49 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 0.6% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for layers is 3.23 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and flat year-on-year.
