Rare earth market analysis:
Prices for mainstream rare earth products remained weak but stable today. The average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide stood at 725,600 RMB/ton (down 1,500 RMB/ton), while praseodymium-neodymium metal averaged 882,200 RMB/ton (down 2,100 RMB/ton). Dysprosium oxide averaged 1,382,500 RMB/ton (down 300 RMB/ton), and terbium oxide averaged 6,613,000 RMB/ton (down 5,600 RMB/ton). There was limited transaction data today for products such as praseodymium oxide, neodymium oxide, lutetium oxide, europium oxide, and lanthanum-cerium oxide; please treat these figures with caution.
Currently, trading in the rare earth market is sluggish, with a prevailing wait-and-see sentiment among market participants. The praseodymium-neodymium market remains depressed; inquiries are focused on low-priced material, and market activity is dominated by traders, while holders show little willingness to lower prices. Price inversion at metal producers and lower-than-expected orders for magnetic material manufacturers have limited downstream purchasing to small volumes driven by immediate needs. Prices for medium-to-heavy rare earths remain generally weak but stable; inquiry levels are low, and the volume of spot material in circulation is also limited. Overall, most market players are adopting a wait-and-see approach while awaiting signals from end-user sectors, and prices are expected to maintain a weak yet stable trend in the near term.
