The Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) reported a 7.54% month-on-month increase in Malaysia's palm oil production for the period of July 1–30. By region, production in Peninsular Malaysia rose by 12.63%, while Sabah saw a 0.77% decline; Sarawak recorded a 7.78% increase, and East Malaysia overall saw growth of 1.48%.
The 7.54% month-on-month rise in overall palm oil production indicates a loosening supply situation. This is expected to weigh on spot prices, while futures prices will likely face downward pressure due to expectations of increased supply—a generally bearish factor.
